Green Trax

Green Trax is a registered Private Security Company (Pty Ltd) in South Africa with our home base at the foot of the Drakensberg mountains close to Kruger National Park, managed by the founding member, Ruan de Flamingh.

Ruan is an operational K9 Handler, a qualified field ranger, security officer, field guide, facilitator, instructor, assessor and business manager. He works with the training and handling of tracking and detection K9s on a daily basis.

Tina De Flamingh, Ruan's wife, volunteers her services and her knowledge in dog training and operational handling. She is a qualified K9 handler and assists free of charge in the daily operations of the business and is dedicated to the training of handlers and their dogs.

Karli Nel joined the Green Trax team in 2022. She is a qualified K9 handler and security officer and is in the Green Trax K9 Trainer program. She works in the organisation, care and training of our K9s on a daily basis and actively takes part in our K9 deployments.

GREENTRAX TRAINING CENTER
In January 2023 we got the opportunity to lease approximately 3 hectares of land within a 400 hectare block of wild Bushveld on which to develop the Green Trax Training Center. What first began with gentle bush clearing is now fully fenced. So far we have one of the two training grounds ready and the secure area where we are offering boarding facilities will be finalised within the next 2-3 months, ready to open the doors in September and offering boarding facilities during the December holidays.

The Green Trax team offers:

Training of private K9s in basic obedience, advanced obedience and fun activities such as scent games or agility.
Training of working K9s and K9 handlers in tracking, man-trailing, incursion-, substance- and human detection.
Boarding kennels for private K9s or working K9s.
Educational days to create awareness of the current poaching, trafficking and conservation situation.
Courses and workshops on a variety of topics on the dogs, the handling and the training.
Operational deployments with K9s for human tracking, Man-trailing, Air-scenting, Wildlife contraband detection, narcotics detection, weapons & ammunition detection and incursion detection.

Green Trax supports existing projects and reputable training organisations which fall in line with our vision and conservation ethics. The Green Trax team is actively involved with the local Farmwatch as members of the reaction unit, assists the local police and provides its time, expertise and operational deployments with its K9s free of charge.

We are very thankful to have the support from individuals and businesses supporting our work with the dogs in conservation, crime prevention and Search and Rescue. They donate in the form of money, their time, expertise and knowledge or products.
